Micro-credential in Sustainability

Programme Overview
What is the Micro-credential in Sustainability?
The Micro-credential in Sustainability was co-developed by the University of Bologna, the University of Helsinki, and the University of Krakow. The aim of the programme is to give students an interdisciplinary skill set and knowledge to understand sustainability and sustainable development with all its hindrances and impacts. Students will get a systematic insight into the connections of different aspects and backgrounds of sustainability, such as politics, technology, economics, history, culture, and the law. An integral part is learning constructive skills, argumentation, and negotiation, to achieve the Agenda 2030 and facilitate sustainable transformations.

Programme Structure
The programme consists of 5 MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) and is a total of 10 ECTS. Students start by taking the Introduction to Sustainability (3 ECTS), after which they can complete the other 4 MOOCs at their own pace. After successful completion, students will be issued an online certificate by the University of Helsinki.
The 5 MOOCs are:
- Introduction to Sustainability, 3 ECTS
- Climate.now, 2 ECTS
- Biodiversity.now, 2ECTS
- Political Economy of Sustainability, 2 ECTS
- Sustainability and the Arts, 1 ECTS

Target Participants
This programme is for everyone who is interested in understanding the bigger picture that is sustainability, and learning about the complexity when trying to achieve it.
All students enrolled in a degree programme at one of the 11 Una Europa universities are eligible to take the Micro-credential in Sustainability.
