About Una Europa
Since May 2022 the University of Zurich has been a member of the European University Alliance: Una Europa. The alliance connects eleven leading European research universities, bringing together over 500'000 students and almost 100'000 Staff. This european inter-university environment is intended to foster cooperation and research across borders and disciplines.
Una Europa has the ambition of creating greater joint education in Europe. The 11 universities have joined forces to provide high-quality research-based education, exceeding what any single institution could achieve on its own.
As a member of Una Europa, UZH students have the opportunity to take part in joint formats and participate in projects facilitated by the alliance.

Una Europa Module Exchange
What is the Una Europa Module Exchange?
The Una Europa Module Exchange is a virtual exchange initiative that enables students to take modules offered by partner universities within the alliance, beyond their home institution. It aims to make international academic experiences accessible to all students. Through this format, you can study abroad while staying at home.
Micro-credential in Sustainability
What is the Micro-credential in Sustainability?
The Micro-credential programme gives students a well rounded undersatanding of contemporary challenges to global sustainability and how the United Nations address them with the Sustainable Development Goals. They will be able to understand the different aspects of sustainability and consider them in political, socio-cultural, economic, technological, and legal contexts. The content consists of 5 MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) and is worth 10 ECTS. The credits are awarded by the University of Helsinki in form of a certificate.
MIRI
What is MIRI?
MIRI - Master International Research Internship - brings together master's students and researchers who work on topics in the field of sustainability. Master's students get the opportunity to get international exposure and do international research, to enhance their qualifications and create a more collaborative academic environment. MIRI serves as a database, for master's students to find researchers who work on topics related to sustainablity in their discipline, that are relevant to their career path.
MOOC: AI in Society
The MOOC AI in Society is a Massive Open Online Course available to all Una Europa students. It offers a flexible, self-paced learning environment, allowing students to progress through the course material whenever it best suits them. This multidisciplinary course introduces the fundamentals of AI technology, explores its potential impact on society, and highlights key considerations in the development and application of AI systems.
